Two Heroic Sisters Silk Scarf

This limited edition silk twill scarf features Kehinde Wiley’s painting ‘Two Heroic Sisters of the Grassland,' 2011. Titled after the Chinese parable about two Mongolian sisters, who almost sacrifice their lives to protect their flock of sheep, the piece depicts two subjects, possibly brothers, who stand side by side with their arms in a salute. Based around a story which explores themes of dedication and perseverance, this piece demonstrates the power of unity over division and the importance of the black community to engage in harmony, especially in the face of adversity. This scarf also features a patterned background of navy blue chrysanthemums attached to graceful vines, and is presented in a monogrammed rigid box, wrapped in branded tissue paper.
