Portrait of Llewellyn Doris Silk Scarf
Introducing our exclusive silk charmeuse scarf, a limited edition scarf featuring Kehinde Wiley's artwork, Portrait of Llewellyn Doris, 2019, aptly named after the esteemed model. This scarf is part of a unique series where Wiley skillfully crafted oval portraits adorned in armor. At the heart of this scarf lies the captivating portrait, seamlessly blending with whimsical floral details gracefully drifting across the silk and its borders. The backdrop of the portrait pays homage to the intricate patterns found on roller-printed cotton cloth produced in Russia during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Interestingly, this patterned fabric served as the lining for a green, embossed-velvet munisak ("robe") crafted during the same historical era.
